Nudism was on the offensive in New York beginning in 1934 when a group of men and women were found swimming and taking exercises together in an upper Broadway gym in Manhattan. The wife of one of the members of the Olympian League sent an anonymous letter to the New York Police Department, asking law enforcement to investigate a Manhattan address where he husband was spending much of his time. A detective and policewoman came upon the nudists expecting to a gambling syndicate. My e-book looks at the progression of arrest, conviction, and vindication of the founding members of the Olympian League.

The issue was a contentious one and nudists would likely have been tolerated in New York were it not for the numerous religious groups and an ex-NY governor who entered the fray. My work was researched from newspapers of the era along with more recent opinion on the topic of the Olympian League.
